Short answer
NotchPop Scratchpad is a small text workspace in the island, with word and character counts plus Copy and Clear controls. Use it to assemble a draft or temporary snippet before pasting elsewhere. Clear removes the current project's scratchpad text after confirmation.
Keep a working draft out of the destination
A scratchpad is useful when you want to collect a few lines before putting them into a message, issue or document. It gives unfinished wording a place to sit while you check facts or change windows. Treat it as working text rather than a substitute for the project document where the final version belongs.
Good examples include a short bug reproduction, a temporary list of links or notes beside a timed experiment. Avoid pasting raw credentials or private logs just because the panel is convenient. A scratchpad's small size does not make its contents an appropriate place for secrets.
Write, check counts and copy
- Open Scratchpad in NotchPop.
- Type or paste the draft and edit it in the text area.
- Read the word and character counts if the destination has a length requirement.
- Choose Copy, paste into the intended destination and read the resulting text before submitting it.
Copy places the scratchpad text on the system clipboard; it does not send or publish it. Character counts are a useful local check, but an external service may count particular characters or line breaks differently. Let the destination validate its own limit before relying on a borderline draft.
Choose Notes when the material needs separate entries
Scratchpad is one working surface for the current project. If you need multiple retained thoughts with their own titles and selection, use the separate Notes guide. For repeated ready-to-use snippets, clipboard pins serve another purpose: retrieving content you already chose to retain.
When the scratch work is finished, move anything important into its proper document before using Clear. The confirmation describes removing this project's scratchpad text. Check the active project if the text is not what you expected; do not assume a blank panel proves another project's notes were deleted. A clear working surface makes the next draft easier to inspect.
