Your data belongs on your Mac.

What NotchPop stores

Preferences, notes, reminders, timer state, screen-time samples, pinned clipboard items, and drop-shelf references are stored locally on your Mac. NotchPop does not operate a telemetry, advertising, or user-analytics backend.

Clipboard and files

Clipboard monitoring is disabled by default. If you enable it, NotchPop observes new local pasteboard items, ignores content marked concealed or transient, keeps no more than 50 recent items in memory, and persists only the items you pin. Clipboard contents are not sent to NotchPop servers. File conversion is performed locally.

Feature-driven network access

NotchPop connects to external services only when the related feature is configured or used:

• Weather city detection may contact ipapi.co; weather and geocoding use Open-Meteo.
• Currency conversion uses Frankfurter and caches rates locally.
• Google Analytics, AdSense, Stripe, Polar, Dodo Payments, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Grok requests occur only when you configure or use those integrations.
• Update checks contact the project’s GitHub Releases endpoint.

Credentials and authentication

Integration credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain. Google OAuth uses a loopback callback, state validation, and PKCE. NotchPop does not sell credentials, clipboard content, files, or personal information.

macOS permissions

Some features require system permission. Calendar access is requested when you connect Calendar. Media control can request Automation access to Apple Music or Spotify. Message replies can require Full Disk Access, Accessibility, and Messages Automation. Microphone access is limited to features that record audio. You can revoke permissions in macOS System Settings.

Deletion and retention

Disconnect integrations in NotchPop to remove their saved credentials through the app. Removing the application does not automatically delete its preferences or Keychain items. You can also remove app data and credentials through the relevant macOS settings.
